Letter from the Chapter
Welcome Potential New Members,
My name is Nicole Apodaca and I am the Vice President of Membership for the Lambda chapter of Sigma Kappa. When I first came to Cal I wanted to find a community that inspired and empowered me. At the time, I knew very little about Greek life, but I knew going through Fall Primary Recruitment would give me the opportunity to find life-long friends I could always count on. The decision to join Sigma Kappa has been the best decision I have made at Cal. Sigma Kappa has surrounded with me positive, driven, intelligent, and hilarious women who have enriched my life immeasurably. My membership in Sigma Kappa has provided me with countless opportunities, both scholastically and professionally, and my older sisters have always offered invaluable guidance and advice. As cheesy as it sounds, joining Sigma Kappa has helped me find my home away from home.
Whether you have been planning on recruitment since the day you got accepted to Cal or you're still hesitant about the whole process, I highly encourage you to go Greek. Recruitment can be a trying and overwhelming process, but here at Cal, there is a place for everyone amongst the 13 Panhellenic chapters. Finding a home, as I have found in Sigma Kappa, is an invaluable experience that can shape your college career. On behalf of the entire Lambda chapter, I wish you the best in finding your home here in Berkeley.
